DirectShow
API offers standardized and documented API which can be used to program
every driver parameters. Due to low power mode when the chip is unused,
application of power management of the chip comes into force. In order
to evade field reversal while video norm is selected, the driver takes
much concern at that moment. One can watch TV in a better way by
capturing and previewing at 756x576 from chipset in PAL-NC. Even FM
radio can be tuned by using the TV tuner audio circuit. Videos can be
captured in full screen. Videos can be captured at desirable frame rate
for the Windows API based capture applications like Adobe Premiere, etc.
DirectShow and the hardware supported capture video formats are present
in profusion for example YV12 is used for MPEG capture. Ulead Media
Studio Pro or Ulead Visual Studio are very new and quick Direct Show
capture applications for capturing full frame size or full rate mpeg2
video. It helps in controlling the brightness, saturation, sharpness,
hue, and contrast of the image. Even a sort of white balance can be done
on the captured image.
Improved
image can be obtained on the monitor by turning on the gamma correction
which is supported by the chipset. Since driver is augmented for speed,
the CPU supplies are comparatively less than the original driver (VXD). A
for preview and capture different color spaces and sizes can be
selected. Preview is got using all the frames not captured even if the
video or audio is to be captured at full frame sizes at a very low frame
rate. The final settings left in the computer are stored by the
driver. The chipset supports all the video standards. You can download
this free LGPL licensed driver for free from this website.
